Miechowicka Forest Habitat
Miechowicka Forest Habitat – it is overgrown by Polish and exotic tree species. The particular charm of this forest is attributed to little valleys as well as numerous streams creating some tiny, picturesque ponds overgrown by plants. The water reservoirs, meadows and forest clearings in Miechowicka Forest Habitat complex are habitats of many plant and animal species, including protected ones. Attention should be paid also to many centuries’ old trees, including exotic species, i.e. California white fir, tulip tree, katsura tree, Eastern hemlock, Serbian spruce and thuja. Some of them are remnants of former parks. It is home to many animals, including roe deer, wild boar, fox, European hedgehog, beech marten, squirrel, mole, rodents, bats and more than a dozen bird species. Fans of active recreation may use also bicycle and walking paths.
